POT PLANT OWL

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXMOM here...

Hello there to all my friends from the
This in an old blog of mine, so I've decided to use it for the moment to show you the pics of the PPO.  I took these pics on Friday, after been graciously invited by Tracey and Allan to view the owls and their chicks.
Enjoy the photos...
"Mamma"...in her twin pot...opposite the PPO Chicks...always watching.
Chicks...22days old.
Above: The wetland adjacent to the townhouse complex.  "Pappa" owl usually sits in the big tree on the left.
Above: Tracey and Allan's beautiful book.  You can order it online through them.

MAXDOG

Anticipation, excitement, apprehension, dauntedness, fatigue, focus, creativity and euphoria!

These are some of my emotions; all wrapped up into a neat little coil of what is termed 'A book rollout'. I can't believe that my calling is finally coming to fruition.  Can it be, that MAXDOG will finally be immortalised in print?

This was all brought home to me yesterday, when the tension banner for MAXDOG's publicity was finally delivered to me. It was carefully rolled it, out in front of me, and secured it to its frame as I watched, in awe, as MAXDOG's beautiful face stared back at me.  The banner is 2m x800mm - not exactly small.  It's iconic in its impact.  Wow!

This past week has been taxing to say the least.  The finish line for painstaking and careful editing is peeping over the horizon.  In just seven more days, the final  MAXDOG manuscript will be sealed up, closed forever and will be sent off to the layout designer.  It will be a time to move away from the emotion of the story - towards a different dimension ... of affable fonts and fleurons.

Not only that, but my selection of 21 photographs (sorted from over 4000) will need to be cut down to only 12 - an almost impossible task! Once again, I am going to have to rely on the sweet, affirming voices of those who stand behind this project.  It's time for 'others' to make the choices of 'what MAXDOG's readers will want to see'.  The photographs are just too sentimental for me to make appropriate choices on my own.

MAXDOG's cover looks beautiful and its text ... perfect!  I have a magician for an editor and she has waved her magic wand through MAXDOG's 66 000 words;  perfect, colourful, flavourful and engaging words and sentences have sprouted out of my own.  Once again, it feels as if the perfect person has been placed in my path at the exactly the right time, and that my silent prayer, 'Wherever MAXDOG goes, let it do good.' has  been honoured. It's uncanny how the mystic forces of hope, sharing, caring and upliftment have followed this journey.  For the first time in my life I feel that I am doing exactly what I was always meant to do.  I am humbled to the core, yet so proud of this project!

There are only 7 weeks to go to publication and the world feels quite surreal.

If you are so inclined, please pray for my book:
"Wherever MAXDOG goes, let it do good."
